CBC's Dragon Den in Vancouver
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the TV show, “Dragons' Den” is where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their business concepts and products to a panel of Canadian business moguls who have the cash and the know-how make it happen. The Dragons are ruthless and share their unabashed comments to passionate, courageous souls willing to pitch their ideas in front of national television.
At the first Xcelerate Forum taking place this coming April, BC tech companies will have the opportunity to do the same: deliver their 2-minute pitches to the Xcelerate Panel consisting of Brett Wilson (invited), Amos Michelson and Steve West.
Xcelerate Forum will feature focused conversations with professional experts and industry coaches.
Sessions and coaches will include:
• Identifying the marketing opportunity - Phil Holland (Entrepreneur-in-residence, SFU)
• Planning and Execution - Paulin Laberge (Mentor, ACETECH Growth Strategy Program)
• Talent for Growth - Pat Watson (VP of Global HR, Sierra Wireless)
• Strategic Sales - Jack Allison (Partner, Conselleo)
• Managing IP and Patents - Doran Ingalls (Partner, Fasken Martineau)
• Licensing - Karam Bayrakal (Partner, Fasken Martineau)
Entrepreneurs of tech companies with a commercialized product and at least one customer can apply by completing the online application here by February 28, 2010.
